After developing a solid reputation successfully managing multiple building and general planning projects for 6 municipalities across California, Paul Cromartie was recruited by the New Orleans Office of Recovery and Development Administration to carry out the citywide Recovery Area plan established to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Implementation of the ambitious plan entailed the construction of 117 physical development projects and economic programs supported by $422M in Federal funds. Serving as the Director of Target Area Implementation, Paul Cromartie developed a comprehensive strategic Citywide recovery plan designed to rebuild the devastation of the city's neighborhoods, business centers, and recreational areas. As the head of a team of 7 employees, he has been highly successful in developing, coordinating, and shaping the complex recovery plans for this devastated area.
Paul Cromartie draws on over two decades of experience in general planning. He possesses 16 years of experience in design review of commercial and residential projects, among them large projects such as a 200-room Marriott Hotel project, the Powell Street Plaza, Bay Street Center, the Tracy Shopping Center, the Sybase Rehabilitation project, the 225-unit Park Avenue Apartments.
Paul Cromartie holds extensive professional experience in the area of compliance with environmental regulations and management. He has worked with environmental review procedures, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and managed the production of countless environmental impact reports (EIRs). Paul possesses 9 years of management experience, successfully supervising city staff members, preparing departmental budgets, overseeing planning, and coordinating projects.
